Psalm 118:24
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118 was written for the time of Passover. Passover is the celebration of Israel's deliverance from slavery in Egypt by God's mighty hand. Moses instructed the people to slay a lamb and put it's blood on their door post so that the death angel would pass over their homes. The death angel would only strike the homes that were not sealed with the lamb's blood.
God was pointing out the day His own Son would be the Lamb that would take away the sins of the world. Verse 22 talks about the builders rejected. This too was pointing to the price Jesus paid for our sins.

Today we can look back and say Jesus has come. He has shed His blood in my place. He has risen from the dead and has poured out His Holy Spirit. Therefore no matter what trials and hardships I face, my sins have been washed away in the name of Jesus. (Acts 22:16, Titus 3:5) From the foundation of the world redemption was planned. (Revelation 13:8) We now live in the day of redemption. Now we can say of every day, This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.
